DAC (direct attach copper) cable systems for SFP+ interfaces
SFP+ (Small Form-Factor Pluggable Plus) or "10GBASE-CR" cable assemblies are an I/O interface system designed to minimise size and to reduce energy consumption in data centers, high-performance computing environments and the entire network storage market.
Our copper-based SFP+ solutions are a low-cost, low-power, low-latency and hot-pluggable alternative to fiber optic modules. The SFP+ DAC copper cables for 10 Gb/s Ethernet and 8.5 Gb/s Fiber Channel applications are available in transmission lengths of up to 5 m.
With a tensile strength of 250 N and and its exceptional NEXT characteristics, our SFP+ copper solutions have set new standards in the industry. Optimised in several respects, the connections consist of a SFP+ connector plug and a twinaxial 100 ohm ParaLink® cable. While the design of the circuit boards focused on significantly reducing the near-end crosstalk of signal pairs, the plug housing demonstrates excellent EMC-shielding characteristics. Other unique features include, beside the extremely reliable strain relief with inner and outer crimp rings, an easy release mechanism, which has been enabled through an innovative spring mechanism.
